In a challenging economy where even bedrock industries have been shedding jobs to stay afloat, it's heartening to be able to look at a business sector and see signs of actual growth. For those with the right educational credentials, accounting jobs are as plentiful as the job's activities are varied. Not only limited to preparing company financial statements and tracking business transactions, the job of an accountant can entail a broad range of duties from managing health care benefits, to the implementation of tax strategies. Due to the far reaching nature of the job, it's seen as a perfect teaching ground for learning how a business works from the inside out and as great training for the aspiring CFO.
